“This past week a group of six friends scheduled a tour with World On Wheels. We were NOT disappointed!!! Every summer one of us plans a "Mystery Adventure." This year I planned our RiverFront Segway trip. The others showed up for the day having no idea what we were going to do. You should have seen their faces when they entered that small room in the back of the Peoria Visitor's Center. That's when they saw what was really in store! They couldn't stop smiling.

We were all apprehensive as we were not "skinny, athletic, thirty-somethings". We headed to the shady parking deck for our training. I was told training normally takes ten minutes. Ronnie, one of the owners spent nearly an hour with our group of six. His son VJ was called in as reinforcement! He helped train the last of us. The task was completed in just about an hour! So much for ten minutes!

It seems their philosophy is not to send anyone out without the confidence that they are ready to SAFELY handle the machine. I was worried that we might not get to spend our full hour since it took so much time "training" us. Not so! We enjoyed the exhilarating experience to the fullest. The paved path between the RiverFront and Detweiller Marina was partially shaded, offered a marvelous view of the river, and we were allowed to travel at our own comfort levels.

I cannot say enough about the pleasure of this experience or the accommodation of the owners. Who says there's nothing fun to do in Peoria. Don't miss this opportunity! Thanks!”

“We had a blast. We have already told many friends and family who said they are anxious to try it. We, unfortunately, did not take any pictures. I guess we will just have to come back and do it again for the photo ops! It was a little awkward at first, but it is similar to riding a bike. Once you get your balance, it becomes second nature. The instructor was very knowledgeable and gave us enough time to acquire the skill level to become comfortable. I would recommend it to everyone!”
